web client error: rule.selectorText is undefined

FireFox Addon conflict with Scrum Web Client

When using the ScrumWorks Pro Web Client, Users cannot edit any task in any state.
When users attempt to edit the status of a task to done, in progress, or impeded, The error returned is "An exception occurred; Security error"

When users click on the +Task button, nothing happens.

When users click on Header links for tasks the following:
An exception occurred:
rule.selectorText is undefined
Press the OK button to refresh.

I was able to track this issue to a conflict with the Skype add-on.

Disabling the add-on resolves the issue. The issue does not occur with the Skype add-on for IE.

  • Hi Mockodin,

    As far as I know this is the only add-on anyone has ever reported causing an issue, you are the second person to mention it. Looking back through my previous cases the last time we heard about this was in 2008 in fact.

    Thank you for recording it here as a topic, hopefully it can help someone in the future. I wish I had the resources to record every one-off (or in this case two-off) case and resolution on the community page.
