I am upgrading from ScrumWorks Basic to ScrumWorks Pro 4.4 on a RHEL server. I am following the instructions here: http://danube.com/docs/scrumworks/pro.... I'm using: scrumworks-pro-4.4.0-mac_linux-mysql.tar.bz2
I run the setup.sh script and answer the questions:
* Where is Java? - /usr/java/jdk1.6.0_21
* Run as daemon? - y
* Run as user? - apache
* Run as group? - apache
* Upgrade? - y
* Path to old "ScrumWorks Pro" installation? - /usr/local/scrumworks-1.8.3
* Correct? - y
I get the output:
Installing Jakarta Commons HttpClient 3.1...
Installing Apache POI - Java API To Access Microsoft Format Files...
Installing sample database...
Changing permissions...
Configuration file created.
Stopping existing ScrumWorks service...
Running the upgrader...

Java 6 SDK was found. Continuing...
The databases in both versions of ScrumWorks must be of the same type.
An error occurred while updating your database.

The trick is that you need to install the hypersonic version of ScrumWorks Pro to migrate the data from Basic. Once that migration has happened, you can use the transfer tool to convert the new Hypersonic DB to a MySQL DB.

Hello,
Josh is correct. If you plan on using MySQL you will want to first upgrade from Basic to the Hypersonic version of Pro. At that point, once you have MySQL setup and ready you can use the transfer tool found on the downloads page to move your data to it. You can find instructions for migrating this data here:
http://danube.com/docs/scrumworks/pro...
Also, please be sure to back up your original database before starting any of this, so that we can recover it if anything does have issues. -
