Unable to launch Scrumworks Desktop Client in Scrumworks Pro?

I installed Scrumworks Pro in Unix machine (Fedora 15) and used mysql, java 1.6.0_29. Everything works properly in my local system. While I try access it from other machine, Web client is working but Desktop client is not launching.. Authentication window for Desktop client appear, after entering username and password i.e "administrator" and "password", there is no response.. And server.log file shows the following error..

2011-12-12 09:30:46,519 ERROR [org.apache.catalina.core.ContainerBase.[jboss.web].[localhost].[/swjars]] (http-0.0.0.0-8080-2) Internal error:: ClientAbortException: java.net.SocketException: Connection reset

I reinstalled it again, but I getting same problem.

    sad I’m confused
    Solved.. But another issue..

    I tried to launch the desktop client in 2 window systems, one in "administrator's window" system where is worked properly but in another system it said "Failure in launching Desktop client". I was informed as Administrator window system is updated with proper java setting with latest version but not the other one.. I am not sure whether this is the reason for not launching..

    This is confusing, since in linux system where I tried to access the Desktop client (by :8080/scrumworks) before, I updated the linux system with java 1.6.0_29 version -> gives different problem. Here Desktop client authentication window appears but there won't be any response once username and password is entered.. Server.log file gives the above mentioned error..

    Please help me, give me the what could be the reason for this.. Whether Java settings problem or network/proxy settings problem?

    Thanks

  • Hello,

    I would normally need to see the log file to be able to say for sure, however by the sounds of it, the Windows account that does not have administrator privileges may be restricted in what ports it can use.

    I would suggest checking with your network security settings to see if there s an alternate port you could use if 8080 is a no go for lower access users.

    You can find the details on making port adjustments in Scrumworks here:
