ScrumWorks doesn't run on 32-bit Macs due to lack of Java 6 support
Rather ironic that as a mac user, the only software I need my windows VM for (except for testing) is Scrumworks which is written in Java.

I heard that Apple will release Java 6 on 32-bit Mac platforms with Snow Leopard: http://java.dzone.com/news/32-bit-jav...
That's the only barrier I'm aware of to running ScrumWorks Pro on Macs.-

Scrumworks Pro desktop client runs poorly on Snow Leopard. It has severe display update issues, and spits stacktraces out like mad.

Thanks, Caleb. I'm running
ScrumWorks Pro
Version: 3.3.0
Build: 2009-02-19 15:59 r17818
Do we need to upgrade our scrumworks pro server installation, or can I upgrade just the client? -
-
Just the server. One of the reasons we uses Java Web Start and a Client Server architecture for ScrumWorks was that any time you update the Server, that update is automatically pushed out to every client as soon as they connect for the first time after an upgrade.

In the Scrumworks Basic 1.8.3, these display issues remain in OS X 10.6 using java 6 in either 32 or 64-bit mode. I don't think this will be fixed, perhaps now we have a reason to upgrade?

http://wiki.oneswarm.org/index.php/OS... got me started in the right direction, but in addition to this I also had to symlink the "1.5" version as well. Fixed.

I'm still on Mac and now on Snow Leopard and having minimal issues with the desktop client.
drop down boxes will go blank if I select the same item that was already there (default or otherwise). Making web reports becomes fun when modules completely disapear when you hit the save button (though if you follow the link the correct report is actually there).
and some other such things.-
This is a known issue with Apple's implementation of Java. They are aware of the problem and are working to resolve the issue. Other than being an annoyance, it shouldn't cause any problems except in task editors and the task status field in the sprint detail window prior to ScrumWorks 4.0 which worked around the issue there.

This seems to be completely fixed (at least for my updated Snow Leopard macbook pro).
There may be minor look and feel issues now and again, but there's no functional issues with using SWP on mac.-
Yep, SWP desktop client now works on my Snow Leopard.

Yes, I'm sure the Pro version is fine, but the free version is still a bit buggy. No worries.
