Import Error: "Invalid estimate for 'Product Name'"

When importing spreadsheet into Selected Release I receive the error: "Invalid estimate for 'Product Name'" The Product Name is not the same as any other product that i have. Yet I still get this error. Is there a fix for this?

Thanks

  • Hello,

Do you have any Null values listed in the spreadsheet?

Also, you may want to take a look at the format of your spreadsheet and make sure that it matches what Scrumworks Pro is looking for. You can find an example excel file and list of what you need in the excel file here:

I have the same problem. The file I try to import is exactly as exported 1 minute before importing. The message: Invalid estimate for 'Product Name' comes before the version check, because if an exported file does not give this error on import (some do), it will also not be imported because it sets the ScrumWorks Basic Version number to 1.8.4, while it only imports if you set it manuall back to 1.8.3 in Excel.

I get the same problem, exported sheet can't be imported. It appears only with "import into release" feature, importing as new product works fine.

I'm trying to take a couple of products in my current database and combine those to one as two releases, i.e. I'm importing the exported products back to the same database as part of a new product. But I think that's not the reason but something wrong in the "import into release" function.

The problem can be repeated even with the Sample Product provided with the tool.

Please let me know if there's any workaround. Thanks!

Ok, I got it. "Import into release" doesn't work with data exported from ScrumWorks Pro, but with excel sheets manually constructed to format described in the manual. This is very clear after reading the manual, but doesn't open up intuitively when using the product.

I think the import options should be two separate items in the menu (not subitems) and the difference between those made clear ("import a task list to release" could be more descriptive for this one).

Conclusion: sounds like more manual work for me...
