Inappropriate? No. In ScrumWorks, tasks are fine-grained units of work measured in hours.
However, the Product Backlog Effort Estimation Unit can be changed in the Product Properties: File > Product Properties.

Inappropriate? Is it possible to set hours remaining on a task to 1.5 or 2.5 when appropriate instead of just whole hour increments?
-
Inappropriate?Hi Cbrucia,
Currently no, hours must be whole units. As I understand it this was done intentionally.
I am having trouble digging out the Blog entry about task granularity that I believe addresses why the tool does this. If you are interested in it just let me know and I will speak with Michael James about it and get back to you.
On another note; because tracking time spent is a matter of precision, if you are using the Timesheets functionality you will find that you can enter partial hours (1.5, 4.25 etc.)
