4.5.1 Available

The ScrumWorks team has detected an issue with the SOAP API in release 4.5.0 that may result in data loss. We've released a patch (release 4.5.1) and all customers running 4.5.0 are encouraged to upgrade immediately.


  1. Description: a defect in ScrumWorks Pro release 4.5.0 related to the SOAP API has been fixed in release 4.5.1. The issue causes data loss in the description field of a backlog item when the backlog item in question is updated via the SOAP API. Updates through the desktop or web clients do not trigger this defect.


  2. Risk Level: High


  3. Applicability: Customers running ScrumWorks Pro release 4.5.0. Prior and subsequent releases of ScrumWorks Pro are unaffected.


  4. Fix: Affected data can be recovered in the change log, which stores historical changes to backlog items for up to 60 days.


  5. Recommendation: Any customer currently using 4.5.0 should upgrade to release 4.5.1 immediately. Even if the SOAP API is not currently being used, upgrading now will prevent future inadvertent data loss.
